What's the Best Bagel in Park Slope?
Your Park Slope Bagel Shop Guide, plus a MAP of 25+ bagel shops in the area!
“What’s your favorite bagel shop in the neighborhood?”
That’s a question I was asked a few weeks ago at the 5th Ave Music and Art Stroll. A man and his elementary school-aged daughter stopped at my table to say hi and to sample the fresh carrot bread. After I explained a bit about my interviews and the section of favorite Park Slope things — like coffee shops, gift stores, takeout, and more — the man said, “What about bagels?” I admitted that I haven’t asked that specific question yet but promised to add it to my list for future interviews.
We talked in-depth about Park Slope bagels for what felt like 20 minutes, and his daughter even chimed in. Their favorite is La Bagel Delight, which is only a couple blocks from their apartment, so he said convenience plays a role too. “But it’s still the best and everyone who works there is great,” he said. “We also love Bagel Hole, but their bagels are different. They’re crispy and sort of dense.”
“Bagel Pub on 7th Ave is my favorite,” I told them. They both nodded in approval.
So, now I’m curious: What’s your take on the best bagel in Park Slope? Let us know in the comment section below. And, if you feel like sharing, what’s your go-to bagel order?

Your tap water might taste different for a while: The Croton Distributing Reservoir, the city’s primary water source, has been leaking 35 million gallons of drinking water EACH DAY for 30 YEARS! To fix the leak, a stretch of the Delaware Aqueduct near Newburgh will be shut down for several months. But New Yorkers still need water, so the Department of Environmental Protection is connecting a bypass tunnel, mixing in water from a different reservoir from the city’s system of 19 of them. Any difference you may notice in the water’s taste won’t be because of the bypass tunnel but rather a change in the blend of water sources during the repairs, according to DEP Commissioner Rohit Aggarwala.
Community Board 7 rejected Arrow Linen’s plan for 13- to 19-story apartment buildings: The board voted 30 to 6 to disapprove the rezoning proposal. Arrow Linen must “withdraw the application and conduct planning and visioning meetings with area residents before submitting a reworked rezoning proposal.”
