Hello! How’s your week going?

Last weekend, Mitsuki Japanese Market opened its third location in Park Slope at 80 7th Avenue, between Berkeley Place and Union Street. The anime-themed specialty store is filled with Japanese candy, snacks, drinks, and grab-and-go lunches. They also sell toys, home goods, accessories, and fun gifts.

Yesterday afternoon, I spoke with founder Jay Cao about the two-day grand opening event, his favorite anime series, and how he feels about the expansion into Park Slope.

At Mitsuki Market’s grand opening event last Saturday and Sunday, the first 50 customers received a free goodie bag (pictured) packed with snacks; here’s the line outside Mitsuki Market on Sunday morning.
